Symptom

After installing Lenovo Patch or after upgrading to Configuration Manager 2103 and later, the Lenovo Patch plugin may be missing from Software Library > Overview > Software Updates. Upon reviewing Programs and Features, Lenovo Patch is confirmed as installed.

Cause

This interaction can be caused by a new feature introduced to Configuration Manager in version 2103 for console extensions. Microsoft provides more information about console extensions in this article.

Solution

1. Open the Configuration Manager console using 'Run as Administrator'
2. Navigate to Administration > Overview > Site Configuration > Sites.
3. Select the Site.
4. In the ribbon bar, click on Hierarchy Settings button.
5. In the Hierarchy Settings Properties dialog, on the General tab, uncheck the box for 'Only allow console extensions that are approved for the hierarchy'.
6. Click OK.
7. Close the Configuration Manager console.
8. Reopen the Configuration Manager console using 'Run as Administrator'
9. Navigate to Software Library > Overview > Software Updates and confirm the Lenovo Patch plugin is available.
