Plugin Missing from Console
Symptom
After installing Lenovo Patch or after upgrading to Configuration Manager 2103 and later, the Lenovo Patch plugin may be missing from Software Library > Overview > Software Updates. Upon reviewing Programs and Features, Lenovo Patch is confirmed as installed.
Cause
This interaction can be caused by a new feature introduced to Configuration Manager in version 2103 for console extensions. Microsoft provides more information about console extensions in this article.
Solution
- Open the Configuration Manager console using 'Run as Administrator'
- Navigate to Administration > Overview > Site Configuration > Sites.
- Select the Site.
- In the ribbon bar, click on Hierarchy Settings button.
- In the Hierarchy Settings Properties dialog, on the General tab, uncheck the box for 'Only allow console extensions that are approved for the hierarchy'.
- Click OK.
- Close the Configuration Manager console.
- Reopen the Configuration Manager console using 'Run as Administrator'
- Navigate to Software Library > Overview > Software Updates and confirm the Lenovo Patch plugin is available.
